Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026

1. Introduction

HAM Technologies ("we," "our," or "us") operates the DocScan mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our App. We are committed to safeguarding your privacy and ensuring transparency about our data practices.

By downloading, installing, or using DocScan, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.

2. Information Collection

DocScan is designed with a privacy-first approach. We minimize the data we collect and process most information locally on your device.

Information We Do Not Collect

  • We do not collect personal identification information such as your name, email address, or phone number through the App.
  • We do not collect or store the content of your scanned documents.
  • We do not track your location.
  • We do not create user accounts or require registration.

Information We May Collect

  • Crash Reports: We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymous crash reports and diagnostic data. This includes device type, operating system version, app version, and crash stack traces. This information does not identify you personally and is used solely to improve app stability.
  • App Usage Analytics: We may collect anonymized, aggregated usage data such as which features are used most frequently. This data cannot be used to identify individual users.

3. Data Storage

All documents, images, and data you create or scan using DocScan are stored locally on your device. We do not upload your documents to any cloud server or external storage.

  • Scanned documents are saved in the app's local storage on your device.
  • Document metadata (such as document names, creation dates, and folder organization) is stored locally.
  • App settings and preferences are stored locally on your device.
  • You maintain full control over your data and can delete it at any time by removing documents within the App or uninstalling the App.

4. Camera and Photo Library

DocScan requires access to your device's camera and photo library to provide its core scanning functionality.

  • Camera Access: The App uses your device's camera solely for the purpose of scanning documents. Camera data is processed locally on your device and is not transmitted to any external server.
  • Photo Library Access: The App may request access to your photo library to allow you to import existing images for processing. Images selected from your library are processed locally and are not uploaded externally.

You can revoke camera or photo library permissions at any time through your device's system settings.

5. Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise share your personal information with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

The only third-party service integrated into the App is:

  • Firebase Crashlytics (Google): Used to collect anonymous crash reports for the purpose of improving app performance and stability. Firebase Crashlytics may collect device identifiers and crash diagnostic information. For more information, please refer to Google's Privacy Policy.

6. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information processed by the App. Since all document data is stored locally on your device, the security of your data is primarily dependent on your device's built-in security features.

  • We recommend using a device passcode, biometric authentication, or other security measures to protect access to your device.
  • The App does not transmit document content over the internet.
  • We follow industry-standard practices for secure software development.

7. Children's Privacy

DocScan is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.

Continued use of the App after any modifications to this Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
